Kijana Jiajiri Programme

Overview

KIJANA JIAJIRI is a dedicated programme to promote entrepreneurship among under-served young Tanzanians and provide them with the practical support they need to get started and grow in business.

Overall Goal of the programme is to empower young Tanzanians to establish or enhance their businesses through which they can provide employment to themselves and others, create wealth and fight poverty.

Target Group

Young adults (18 – 30 years) that are ‘under-served’, and with the potential to be an entrepreneur and with a viable business idea, but without the means to access the support needed to start in business.

Intervention

KIJANA JIAJIRI specific interventions are to;

  • Train in business and entrepreneurship skills
  • Mentor and coach
  • Enable access to finance
  • Link to business programmes and networks
Funding

The programme is sponsored by the Government of Tanzania through NEEC’s resources, and receive grant from founder donor Tanzania LNG, a joint venture between BG Tanzania, Statoil, ExxonMobil, Ophir Energy and Pavilion Energy.

Delivery

The programme is delivered in partnership with  organisations local to each region, and co-ordinated with complementary initiatives, and with consistency of services nationally.
